Finished a bottle of Berheim Wheat Whiskey last night. Glad to have tried it, but not something I want again real soon. Anyone know the mashbill? Is this all wheat (or wheat and malted barley)? Any corn or rye in there for flavor? I think a touch of rye might be an interesting variation. I guess I should have tried some personal vattings before I finished it.

I don't know the mashbill on this I would like to. I think this whiskey has found a permanent place in my cabinet. I think any novice bourbon drinker should have it to understand the interaction of wheat and corn in whiskey.

A bottle of William Larue Weller (2008) is now an end marker on the bookshelf. The bottle had been open for a year and a half, and the last pour) a couple of nights ago in the gazebo) was the best from the bottle. One thing I love about uncut, unfiltered whiskey- they just don't seem to oxidize as badly. Not to mention that it's wheat, and that always gets better with age...

Well, my first empty bottle of a Van Winkle product. It was one of the tastiest bottles of bourbon I've had, liked by all that sampled her goodness. We will miss you Lot B, RIP my friend.

Down to one last pour of PVW 15. Not sold in NC. Just broke up with my honey in Florida, so no longer have a good way of replenishing. Life is sucking just about now.

Worry not, there are avenues to get the Pappy....Get to Rock Hill, SC (just south of Charlotte) to Frugal MacDougal's worth the trip. Or, give the bourbon guy at Binny's a call....he's got a way to get it to us

Well, I finished my Johnny Drum 15 year....it was an OK bottle at the start, and an OK one at the end. This is one that I won't by again, just needed to clear the space on the shelf for new bottles....

OWA 7/107 oxidation does this stuff good, makes it sweeter.

Nice evening here in Seattle. Went to a friends house grilled some steaks, sat around the fire pit and while the kids made smores the adults finished off a bottle of Buffalo Trace.

Finished off a Binny's ERSB last night and a RHF's is about to give up the ghost as well.
