Welcome. Where in NorCal are you? Any favorite Bourbons?
Some great Brandy is produced in NorCal.
Glad to have you along.
Yes we do make good brandy... in fact until recently I used to work in production at one of the Distilleries up here. As for Bourbons I would say I like the VW Lot B, but it is at the end of my price range currently. I've made some whiskeys at other places I've worked, but the more I learn the more I am interested in Bourbons. I'll be at the whiskeys of the world this Saturday in San Francisco if any of your going we should try and meet up.
Cheers,
BW
Oh....Charles Cowdery if you read this I remember reading something you wrote in a post a while back. You said that it was harder to make Bourbon that other whiskeys, and I was wondering if you could elaborate on that.
I'll be nearby, but alas will be across the bay (Vallejo) spending the day (Sunday too) attempting to bring order to a customer's chaotic computer room.![]()
I don't believe he reads the "New to SB" forum very often. You should probably post your query in the main Bourbon forum.
Yes, but we have free range water here in Oregon.
Anyway, welcome to SB.com!

Yes you have great water up there!
The guys at Germain Robin are doing a wheat whiskey - so they tell me. If they approach it with the same skill and creativity they do their Brandy it should be interesting.
