Russells Reserve, although this is pending further investigation of Kentucky Spirit, though it seemed to resemble RR a lot during my limited tastings. . .

It was a hard choice between Kentucky Spirit and Wild Turkey 12yo. I went with KS because of its availability and price. Both are superior bourbons.
Is it still possible to get the 12 year in KY?
I voted for Rare Breed, but I admit that I have never had the pleasure of tasting the 12 year old.

I know of a couple of places that had a bottle or two on the shelves as of a couple of weeks ago. I imagine you will be able to find the odd bottle here and there for a couple of years.
Kentucky Spirit for me Jeff!It has the taste and finish that I love best of all the Wild Turkey bottlings.

My favorite is Kentucky Spirit. I think highly of all aspects of it: the aromas, flavors and finish. Rare Breed is a close 2nd for me. I haven't yet tried the 12 YO.

Geez, this is a tough one. It's almost like asking a father of six to pick his favorite child. (Please note that I said "almost."
) In that light, I would say the WT80 would be the one I would disown
. There's nothing there except watered-down potential. Always disappointing
. The WT101 and Russell's Reserve are much, much better whiskeys and must make "Pappa Jimmy R." proud. For my money, Rare Breed, KS and WT12 are the pride of the family. Perhaps the best bourbon I've ever tasted came out of bottle of KS. But, I have had other bottles of KS that did not quite match that one's superior quality. Rare Breed was the first bourbon that pulled my pants off
, and therefore maintains a special place in my heart. I recently finished my first full bottle of WT12 and was thoroughly impressed and delighted (all the more so because I have three more bottles in reserve
). So, I'm afraid I'm going to cop-out
and say it's a three-way tie. My favorite is which ever one of the three (RB-KS-WT12) is in my glass at the moment

Two words that, at present, give Rare Breed the edge in my book: "Barrel Proof". Rare Breed has all the flavor AND all of the strength that one could desire in a bourbon.
But.....I haven't had the 12 yr. old, and I'm only now becoming better acquainted with KS. So things may change quickly!
