Desert Island Distillery

If you could only drink the products of one distillery for the rest of your life, which distillery would you choose?

I'd say you could choose from distilleries that no longer produce, but I'm afraid that everyone would say S-W...

My choice is Four Roses. Their bourbons are at once singular and distinctive, and there's something honest and simple about the transparency with their recipes. Other distilleries make brands out of mash and barrel placement; with FR, the name of the distillery is the name of the brand, and I like that.

And so many of the favors I find in their bourbons are just out of this world.

I'm guessing we're gonna hear a lot of buffalo trace -their product line seems to be the most varied- wheaters, ryed bourbons, rye whiskies, etc... (assuming stitzel weller, michters and other defunct distilleries are out of the question).

If SW is out of the question, BT and its 2rye bourbons, straight rye, and wheated bourbon would be the logical choice. But tonight Im inclined to say 1992 Bernheim.

Wow, that's a tough one. My tastes change almost daily so picking just one would be difficult. I suppose it would be BT just because I love the Weller line, but they all put out some amazing bottles that would be hard to give up. Good question!

I'd choose Heaven Trace. Either that or Buffalo Hill.

Definitely the Willett "Distillery." Then I'd get to drink some of everything.

Gotta go with BT. Variety, plus those yummy Wellers. FR would be a close second.

Tough choice for me between Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill. Really tough. I think I'll go with BT, though. But, just by a nose. Difference maker is the Stagg and Baby Saz rye. But, HH's PHC's and regular BIB's make them a solid contender. I just hope these are the Polynesian Islands. So, if I get bored with my choice, I'll just jump in my canoe and go trade with close-by friendly island neighbors.
