I am confident that the absinthe rinse contributes significantly to the overall taste of the drink. Absinthe rinse is an important step in the manufacture of the Sazerac Cocktail which is quite good and clearly shows the absinthe flavor.
Something called the 'ultimate' anything almost surely is not.
