Hello all! I've been lurking here for about a month and decided it was time to join. I'm not exactly new to bourbon per se as I have been drinking JBW since I started drinking. After college I switched to WT 101 for my bourbon & coke's. The first bourbon I tried straight was Maker's about 3 years ago and since then I have been hooked. I rarely do any mixing anymore.
Luckily I have hooked up with 3-4 other guys locally who are just as into trying new bourbons as I am. Four of us just took a trip to Bardstown in November and had a blast. We tried every bourbon they had at Old Talbott where we stayed and had a few top shelfers at the Chapeze House.
As far as a favorite everyday bourbon, right now it is OF Signature. I'm loving the FRSB, and a couple of weeks ago my friends & I split a bottle of GTS. Wow, was it yummy!
Looking forward to learning more from all of you.

I'm from Rockford myself. I don't get down your way much, but I have been to Friar Tucks. Great store, with a great selection of bourbons. That should keep you and your friends occupied for a while.
It's good that you have some friends in your area that share your interest in bourbon. For a long while, I went to Chicago and a couple places in Wisconsin to get together with other members and have tastings and such. That was before I got the guys on my bowling team hooked on bourbon.
Now every Wednesday night we have something, and once in a while we get together for food, bourbon and/or football and the like. It's always a fun time when you can share good times with friends or other members. Looking forward to your posts. Cheers! Joe
