WT Russell's Reserve current version.
WTRR 101. Pour this one. Swirl a few times. Let sit for a minute, or two. And, then drink one of the finest whiskies that you will ever have. Turkeys in general, and this one, in particular, seem to be a lot of "parts" that come out of the bottle in a mad scramble. And, it takes these parts a few minutes to get arranged in order, in the glass, to form a complex flavor Bomb. The synergy in some WT whiskies may be better than those from any other bourbon distillery. That said, the current regular WT 101 expression doesn't give this to me. It never melds together, IMO. But, others from the family, like the WTRR 101, most definitely do. I couldn't say that WT whiskies are at the top of my list, but when one of them is "right", it's just about perfect.

Four Roses 80 again. I like this enough to consider forgoing my planned next purchase of Old Rip 107 for one of the higher proof FR's. There is something very pleasant about it. I also had some EWSB 2000 - also very good.
Reached into the back of one of my boxes of open bottles and pulled out a Wathen's bottled in 08 with about 4 ounces left. Only 2 now. Great nose and opening, great rye zing, subtle wood influence and a tad light on the finish. I'm thinking EC 12 if it was EC 8.

I had WT 101 from 1985 both before dinner and with the soft chocolate/coffee cake for dessert. Than later I did pop Emerald and Reid’s 139,5 proof 17 wheater. Men, that was some stuff. Good already from the first pour. Bunches of butterscotch and coco and about the chewiest I have ever had.
