I think when I was told about this a while ago I tried to convert it to audio to listen on my mp3 player, but to no avail.

Does anyone know if it's possible?

I would think it would be. Try a search for audio recorder at download.com
and perhaps you can find something. I know my wife has a program to record
youtube clips (but don't know the name of it offhand.) Would something like
    that work for you?

Perhaps, I have a mac and I used to have a program called mp3-my-mp3 that recorded all sounds coming through the speakers, but haven't found anything related for Macs.

What a great website...thank you for sharing!! Loved the Van Winkle interview and I look forward to watching the others including Elmer T. Lee's while sipping on a dram of his ETL 90th B-Day Edition!

The entire Oral History series is very well done and brings the folks we hear so much about to life in a way the printed word cannot....

The Nunn Center and Buffalo trace have put together a 30 minute documentary from the oral history project that will air on KET in June.
