You can find me in chat most nights on days ending with the letter y!
I know I was pretty late to the party--I didn't start hunting until last year--but I haven't found too much. Having said that, I'm pretty grateful to have found some 70's and 80's Old Taylor, and some 70's and 80's OF Bonded.
As far as I can tell, Manhattan (including Harlem) is pretty well scorched earth. I helped to do that a bit, but it was already pretty slim by the time I got there. The Bronx and Brooklyn seem to have a bit more possibilities, but it's nothing abundant. I haven't hit Queens too much, and I haven't been to Staten Island at all.
Having said all that, I recently found two bottles of Very Special Old Fitzgerald BHC in a store somewhere in Chelsea (and I can't tell you much more than that, I didn't note the address). They are basically identical to these bottles:

They were nearly $50 a piece and I passed on them, since the reviews were pretty mixed, and since I can get Pappy15 for $60, or Lot B or ORVW10 for under $50.
There at least a couple long time members who live at least part time in the area so I wouldn't expect too much.

I scored a couple IW Harper Gold Medals and a bunch of Weller Centennials not long ago in Midtown. The beauty of NYC is the sheer number of liquor stores-- seems like there's one every block or so. Do your hunting, you'll find something of interest if you just hit enough spots.
Hey, I didn't mean to go silent on you there. In terms of where I got the PVW15, it was at a couple of stores that quickly sold out, but where I had been stopping in really often right before the fall drop. One of them never even put the bottles on the shelves and you had to go in and ask. So that's all to say, I wasn't holding out on you. They were gone weeks and weeks ago.
