    Garrison Brother's Bottling

I spent the day with Dan Garrison, his staff and some other volunteers today out in Hye, Texas.
He his bottling 4,500 bottles of bourbon that goes on sale in April. For the first time it will make it to Austin.
We all got a t-shirt and a bottle to take home for all of our hard work.
I bought two bottles last year when it came out. I have to say, this batch tastes much better. Very smooth.
He will open a new kitchen and cookers this April. His place is growing fast and the bourbon is getting better.
Here are photos from the day, looks like my photos included here may not be uploading. Try this link.

Thanks for sharing the great photos, felt like I was there. Bummer about the April release as I'll be down there in March and was hoping to score a bottle. I will definitely try to go on the tour.

Thanks for sharing your photo album. It's really cool to see bourbon produced in a small volume operation. If Garrison bourbon ever made it out my way at a reasonable price, I'd try one.
I come here because you people make me feel normal.

Fantastic stuff. I wish I could have a taste.

Love the packaging / branding of the product, as well. I really get a Texas or SouthWest feeling from it.

Glad to see their place growing, as well. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so jealous! I just heard about the volunteer bottling thing the other day - weeks after they filled all of their spots

The new kitchen and cookers should be up and running by April. I plan on going back and photographing the progress then also.
He uses 15 gallon barrels and moves them on a regular basis, so the contents touches the sides more and get the flavor of the charcoal quicker than in a 53 gallon.
Dan says that is one reason why his 2 year old bourbon tastes like others 6-8 years old bourbons that sit around in the large barrels.
Also the hot Texas heat is a blessing for him.

When is the fall release? I have asked my sis to make a trip to San Antonio to pick one up.

    Re: Garrison Brother's Bottling

If you are interested in Garrison Brothers, I recommend subscribing to their blog. They don't make a lot of extraneous posts. They generally just post when they have something to announce, like a new release, so they don't waste your time reading a bunch of BS.

Not that there is zero BS. They are Texans, after all.
