    Wisconsin pre-pro brands

It is amazing how many distillers existed prior to Prohibition...in every state
it seems. For example, Wisconsin is not a state usually associated with
whiskey....but this data base show at least 5 pages of distillers:

As expected, the majority were German distillers.

    Another Old Hickory
    Breslauer, A. & Co.
    Old Hickory

    Old Hickory shot glass

Where was the product distributed? All local? It seems every town / county of
any size...or not....had a distillery in this country. There must have been thousands of distillers...large and small...I don't think an accurate count is possible when you add in the farm distillers.

I imagine most was released quite young. Too bad we can never compare these old brands to todays production.

Peter Barth.....Bung Hole Whiskey....I can imagine the establishments this brand was popular in....or would be today.
