    Virginia Gentleman Still Sold.

I was talking to Truman Cox about his new job as Master Distiller at A. Smith Bowman and learned from him that, in fact, Virginia Gentleman Bourbon is still made and sold. I thought they killed it in favor of the 'Small Batch" Bowman releases, initially sold only in Virginia. In fact, they killed the 90 proof "Fox" but continue to make the 80 proof VG. Most of it is sold in Virginia.

There's still a few 'boutique' stores selling it here Downunder... Retails for about $70 a bottle

The 80 proof has been showing up in Kentucky the last few months.

It never left my favorite store in NYC, but I never saw the Fox here.

Love the 90 proof Fox, the 80 proof is not bad.

I still see the 80 proof here in Seattle. But I wish I could get some more of the 90 proof just because it was my drink of choice in college. If only I'd known, I wouldn't have opened my last bottle last year...

I've got a bottle of VG 80 from the 80s or early 90s that I picked up not long ago. I'm going to pick up a bottle of the current stuff and put them next to each other.

Sadly, I'm down to my last bottle of Fox. That was some great juice I hope to come across as a dusty later on. It is the closest thing to an Irish Whiskey that I have tasted in a bourbon.

It's also still sold here in Oregon.

    Re: Virginia Gentleman Still Sold.

What is the difference between the VG 90 proof with the fox head on the bottle and the one without the fox head?

I know smokinjoe and I have talked about this before, but I was several pours in and can't remember the difference...
