New guy from TX

I am new to the Bourbon world. I have been an avid Scotch drinker for decades and the crazy prices for Scotch Whisky sent me on a journey to find new juice. After a short rum stint, Zacapa is the juice when it comes to rum, I have been stuck on Bourbon as my drink of choice the past couple of years.

Bourbon... nice on the wallet and crazy delicious on the palate. Not sure what took me so long to get here but I am finally home!

What got my attention is when you mentioned prices. I'm in Iowa and work in the Des Moines area. I'm seeing wacked out prices on alcohol here including non-scotch items. 1 liter of Southern Comfort; $17.55 vs. $33.99. 1.75 liter of Maker's Mark; $46.99 vs. $56.99. And the abuse goes on at the big grocery store chain.

Anyway, I guess you've got to watch 'em no matter what you're buying.

Wadewood... I would love to come my boys have baseball games on Saturday so I am not sure what time I will be done but it may be too late. When does the Bourbon social end? What does one bring? (Good Bourbon I would assume...)
