Stagg Bottle Codes

Someone on another forum contacted me and told me they had a bottle of Stagg in which the front label fell off so they couldn't identify the year, but the bottle has an etched on bottle code: K2431008:31

I know there are some whiskies (Ardbeg for one) for which you can decipher the date through the code. Does anyone know if this is true of Stagg, and if so, where there might be a list of the codes?

label fell off? Those labels don't just fall off. Anything that bottle went through to have label "fall off" probably made contents inside undrinkable or someone removed the label on purpose.

I don't know. It could have been in a flooded basement for a few days, but if the seal held, or if the neck was out of the water, then the contents would be fine.

He got it on ebay (yes, he bought a bottle without a label - hey I wouldn't do it) and wants to confirm it by the bottle code.

The cork seal doesn't really tell you anthing does it? Don't they all look the same?

I looked at one of my Staggs (2010) and couldn't find a similar code on it. I wonder if it's something they do for export only.

EDIT: Never mind, I see it now. Very feint below the label.

I would think that the lack of a front label makes it extra-extra collectible.
