    Where to find Pikesville

Yeah, usually the plea is, "Help me find a Hirsch 21 1/2 Yr. Aqua-Marine Beeswax Top", or a Pappy Van Winkle Lot A (yes, I know), but I'm heading over to the end of the spectrum for this request.

I am roadtripping from NYC down to see an Orioles game and I want to pick up some Pikesville. Two questions:

    1. Will this be easy to find? And if I need to make a specific trip somewhere near to Camden Yards, where is that somewhere?

    2. Are the 1.75's in plastic or glass?

I would try State Line Liquors Elkton, Md. Just off RT.95..... That is where I find it. You can also try Costco Liquors in Christiana, De. also just off Rt.95 at the Christiana Mall Exit.....

    Hey Parker,

If state line doesn't have it, you might want to try Midway liquors on Rt. 40. It's a 10-15 minute detour from I95 (Directions Below). They had Pikesville in stock as of a few hours ago (I was picking up a Sam Adams Utopias for someone). They also had Saz, Handy, Baby Saz, Rittenhouse BIB and 21 , FR 2010 LE small batch, PVW 23, BTEC Lost Barrel, etc. if you need any of those.

from Harford County: Take I-95 south. Exit 74 for Fallston and turn left at the light on MD-152. Turn right on US-40. Drive approximately 1.5 miles and it is on the right.
from Baltimore: Take I-95 north. Exit 67A for White Marsh Blvd./MD-43 E towards US-40. Turn right on US-40. Drive approximately 4.3 miles and it is on the left.

Almost anywhere in the Baltimore area should have a big plastic 1.75. I always have a few on hand as I find it is hard to beat for an Old Fashioned.

If you haven't tried Rittenhouse BIB: I believe it's basically a 100 proof version of Pikesville.

Just stopped by Midway and got into a conversation with the owner. SUPER nice guy and knows his American whiskey. Pikesville was still plentiful in 750ml and 1.75L bottles. I was able to get some Old Ezra 101, OF signature, baby Saz, Fighting Cock, Baker's, and some Pikesville there. Prices are good, as is the selection. He even has some bottles of Knob Creek and Basil Haydn's that are hand signed by Fred Noe!
If you have anything Michter's or Pennco and would like to sell it or share it with me, please let me know.

    Re: Where to find Pikesville

We never had the time to stop by a liquor store, as we went right from the Orioles game to the Rusty Scupper for dinner. But at the restaurant I had a pour of Pikesville. Nice stuff. As would be expected, it tasted to me very much like RittBIB: a touch less richness and weight, and a touch more light fruitiness.

I doubt I'd buy this much if it was available, but only because I can get RittBIB whenever I like for $20 or less. Otherwise, I would, it's a quality whiskey.
