Taste: pretty neutral and smooth compared to a Jim Beam Rye or a Bulleit Rye.

I had this Rye straight, which just wasn't mine.
On the rocks the flavour varied a bit and became fuller and richer.
Tried it with Ginger Ale on the rocks, and that did it for me...

Nothing special, really, it fits nice in a cocktail, but I'm not to sure about if this is why you buy a Rye? Do you? ;-)

Cocktails in bars is what have really been what has brought rye back.

Okay, didn't knew about that. In Germany the most common whiskey in a bar is JD and JB. A well done whiskey sour is pretty rare!

If you to try an interesting twist on a whiskey sour, try shaking in a raw egg white along with the whiskey, syrup, and fresh lemon juice. It's really tasty!

Are you referring to Pikesville Supreme Straight Rye Whiskey? Here in the U.S.A., it is only sold only in ~2-3 states and on a few online shops. It is a great value - usually sells for US$13-$20 for a 750 ml bottle. (I've even picked up a 1L bottle for US$17 in Maryland!) It is pretty smooth, but much milder than the other ryes. Pretty good for rye-based cocktails.
