By the way, you really bubbled over in posts last night. Holding them all in? Glad to see you back around.

Joe, it's good to be back and good to get flack from you again. Been too long. You make a valid point with how rare it is, and you're right, average foot traffic will not go down. From the perspective of being another retailer (but not in liquor) I get so incredibly pissed off when retailers pull shennanigans like that, though. There was a place I used to frequent in Wichita- and they had BTAC for 60 bucks or so. Then they marked it all up to 100 bucks, and when I questioned why and after a short debate, the clerk was willing to sell a bottle of GTS to me for the previous price point. The owner apparently decided that, with the demand made apparent on ebay, he could make those prices work. I did not, do not, and will not shop at that location ever again.

As for the posts... Yes, I suppose I was holding them all in. I haven't been here in ages. I had to stretch my feet a little. I'll try not to cause too much trouble around here, but we'll see how that works out for me.

Good to catch some crap from you as well, Josh. Look forward to reading and receiving more of your over the top sarcasm.

Re: So I think I'm responsible for some Van Winkle price gouging.

Recently, a friend in Michigan asked me if it was fair to pay 90 USD for a bottle of PVW15. The retailer went so far as to show him the going EBAY price. My response was simple. If I was willing to buy it off of EBAY, I would be willing to pay the 90 bucks. Under no condition though, would I ever give him my "normal" business.

Here on the west slope I found a suppler of essentials that has multiple bottles (cases) of the 2011 BTAC on sale for $60....and I'm still recouping from the move

I don't think that it would be very nice living that close to a barn.

If I owned a liquor store, I'd raise the price on the PVW and then bang the help.

If I buy Binny's Brett and Joe are gone. That's bad news, I know.

    BUT!!!

I will, however, start a new concept...."The Binny's Girls". After you see them, you'll be more than happy to pay a fee just for the priviledge of entering the store. Think Tilted Kilt for the Scotch section. Daisy Duke in the Bourbon section. Salma Hayek in Tequila...I Dream of Genie in the Magic Cart....You get the picture ....You'll pay, oh yes, you'll pay.......
