Re: What Bourbon Are You Enjoying, Winter 2011/2012

    Valentine's dinner with great friends.

4RSmB before we left. EC-12 1B before dinner, and ETL pour after dessert.

Great pours, but even better fun with longtime friends dining together at Local 3 in ATL, and laughing over stories of many years ago of how we met our brides. I was almost crying in hysterics at times.

5 couples with total married years of 129 years. Pretty amazing these days.

Best wishes to all on Valentine's Day.

Nice, Bill. Cheers to you all.

Tonight, it's a few pours of Glenmore Yellowstone Mellow Mash. Of all of the dusties that I've run across, this is most definitely in my top 3 or 4 most favorite whiskies. Just a flavor bombshell from nose to finish.

Some tasty WT Rye, before going out to dinner with some friends, to a friend's BYO restaurant. Dinner saw some decent wines but now home and a small pour of Old Fitz BIB bottled in '84 is like manna from heaven. I know I know, it was glut whiskey and older than four years but if only we still had an affordable wheater with the cotton candy, pecan nut and praline tastes like this. I'm bowing at the S-W altar tonight .

Truly excellent Bill! By the way, have you tried Local 3 for Sunday brunch yet? It quickly became my favorite brunch spot in the Metro Area.

Had a nice pour of Knob Creek Single Barrel last night. An extremely delicious, near barrel-strength bourbon. Much better than the standard Knob Creek offering.

Great brunch. I love how they set everything up in that enormous kitchen that was built back when it was still JOL. I've heard their chef's table at dinner is a ton of fun too.

Just had little nips of the following, to see what I'm in the mood for:

    KCSB
vatting of 1988 Old Forester 86 and current OF Signature
    5 year Willett Rye
    Ardbeg 10
    Laphroaig 10
    Lagavulin DE

Whew, I'm feeling pretty good, all of a sudden!

I was informed earlier that I mistakenly passed on a couple bottles of Weller Centennial a couple months back. So I'm currently drowning my self pity with a pour of PVW20.

Haven't gotten to tasting it yet, but certainly enjoying my first EWSB '00.

Ouch, write that one down in your book of lessons learned the hard way. My book is many thousands of pages long.
