What bottle will you (or did you) ring in the New Year with?

Don't know about that...I've had a couple different bottlings of 700's done at 6yr and 7yr and they were nothing to write home about. You have to get the right barrel or they're nothing special IMO.

i was making that statement light heartedly, because that 1789b bottling is so good. of course you'll want to know who's doing the picking or taste it yourself first.

but i do have to say that every one i've tried has been very good to excellent. even the party source 6 year old i thought was very good. i have no regrets making that purchase.

Then it was a vatting of PHC'10, WLW'09, and SW Old Fitz Prime/80.

2011 went out with some Beam Rye. 2012 started with a resolution to never drink Beam Rye again. Fortunately it was insipid enough to prevent anything close to a hangover.

Following Chuck's suggestion, I rang in the New Year with a Seelbach cocktail. I used Evan Williams Single Barrel 1998 for the bourbon component. It was excellent.
