Thanks SR. I take it Vintage is (was) a producer? When I search "Vintage", the returns I get are mostly lower case and refer to the year of production.

It's KBD They buy barrels from other distilleries and bottle under their name.

If we can figure out who they bought it from you can buy other whisky from that maker for considerably less money. KBD occasionally bottles some good stuff but they charge alot to add their label.

The Vintage can definitely be worth it at the right price, and the single barrels can be good value too as I believe they are almost always non chill filtered and barrel proof. At least I've had good luck with most of those.

I'm thinking squire, that it was posted in another thread, that the consensus was it's a Bernheim wheater.

That's the accepted wisdom but no one knows for sure except for KBD. Whatever juice it was, it has since run out.

In the case of V17, I can think of no product with similar mashbill and age that is released directly by its distiller.

There I go again, displaying my stream of consciousness thought process. Images from an earlier conversation with SFS in the chat room melded into my post.

The timing of your post was something else. I too, just finished an 07 WLW. Hated to see that one go. One of my all time favorites. I also recently opened bottles of Lot B and Pappy 15 amongst other things. The Lot B might not be around much longer either. Cheers! Joe

So long Redbreast 12, Jameson 12 and Connemara Peated Single Malt. Also on the chopping block: JTS Brown BIB, Fighting Cock and OGD 114, all of which will fall while watching bowl games today.
