Finished off my first ever PVW15 last night. Amazing from first sip to last. I got lucky to snag 2 at the same place during my first time Pappy hunting, but I may not get that lucky in the future.

Just waved goodbye to a dusty bottle of Old Taylor 80. I have a huge soft spot for this stuff, even at 80 proof (dusty OT 100 is an all-time favorite). It's got plenty of flavor and is so gentle. That was my last one, so I need to cue the A-Team music, suit up, and find some more OT dusties.

Said adios to a bottle of Devil's Cut. I know it has few fans around here, but for an easy sipping whiskey when my attention is more on the Stanley Cup finals than what is in my glass, it is more than up to the task.
HW 16YO Rye....... sad to see this one go...

I have an OT BiB from '74 that I got along with a JBW and Hiram Walker from the early 80's. I am very eager to try it but currently keeping sealed for my 40th with twin brother in 2 years. It may not make it that long. The JBW was also pretty good in coke, but I do tend to like the current JBW in coke as well. The HW has found a new home.
Goodbye OGD114, hello ORVW10/107!

The last pours from two bottles hit the bin this week. First to go was Four Roses OESO single barrel bottled for Clearview Spirits. It was aged for 10 year 10 months. Took a while for it to open up, but I don't think this recipe is one of my favorites. Not going to be replaced. The second bottle I have been savoring/nursing along ever so carefully. Abraham Bowman bourbon TPS barrel #5, 140 proof. For me, this bottling blows the doors off GTS. Sweet, rich, not over oaked, everything one wants in a great bourbon. This one will be missed. Thankfully I have a few more backups.
