Just killed a Larue 117.9. This was the first Larue I ever purchased, and it had been opened for almost 3 years, I believe. The last ounce, charcoal included, was heavenly.![]()

Poured a glass & 1/2 out of a '11 VWFRR. The nose was beautiful when I pulled the cork out. It's a great rye and I've learned I like it best when I take really big swigs of it. I bought a few of these last year and I gave one away to a friend. One more left, '11 VWFRR that is.
I finished off 2 bottles tonight that I had purchased on my trip to Canada a month ago. One was a BT Experimental Collection TPS Wheat on Rye II, and the other was barrel #189 of the BT Single Oak Project. The BTEC was really good, but that barrel #189 was excellent.
Finished off a PVW 20 along with a slice of caramel apple pie. So good.
Just threw an empty bottle EWSB 2002 into the recycling. Stuff wasn't bad but I don't think I'll buy another.
I am sorry to see this one go

finished a bottle of WTR 101, enjoyed it and need to start looking for another rye to keep in stock.
Last night I kicked a bottle of HH6yo BiB. This is a $10 heavy hitter that tastes old school. It's thick and corny with very little of the minty wheatgrass that shows up so much of HH's stuff. Dark, peachy fruits are buried under the resiny corn husks. This stuff excels alone, cold out of the fridge and on ice. It's a great bourbon to drink with a beer. It's simple, cheap and unpretentious. I love it, and it rivals VOB BiB as the best cheap bourbon I've ever had.

Another ETL hits the bin. I think I keep getting defective bottles. The bourbon just doesn't stay in them.
