Tom Moore BIB, such a viscous, rich dark brown for a simple Barton BIB. Much better than the VOB BIB in my opinion.

Sitting in a hotel in Indianapolis, after 4 hours worth of delays, I needed something good, but was also with a couple of bourbon noobs, so I passed up some things I wanted, for a variety of things to teach some intro to bourbon lessons.
I did get a bottle of Very Old Barton though, something not available in NJ. Wbile I still don't think it bests OWA as a value pour it was stunningly good considering how cheap it is.
From there we moved to Maker's 46 (which was selected by the the one noob as his favorite bourbon), and now we capped things off with some Wild Turkey Rare Breed.
It was an excellent learning experience for them, and a good way to cap of a rough travel day for me.
Having some KCSBM. This bottle has improved drastically after being open for a week.
I guess "give 'em the bird" isn't just a marketing slogan, it's a brand management strategy, too.
I must say that I am really enjoying my bottle of Henry McKenna 10 year old! Very smooth, great taste. Like an EWSB on steroids!

I decided to crack open one of my recent dusty finds to do a quality check before I bring it to the Gazebo next week.
The 7 year old Old Charter in the 12 sided glass bottle won the lottery tonight. My best guess is that it is from the mid to late 60's.
Great OC burnt sugar nose, a bit of heat up front and a medium sweet finish.

I grossed over eight thousand dollars in one night. Time of your life, huh kid?
A serving of SB Blend followed by VOB BIB turned out to be a very good pairing. Delicious!
