Alas, I have had to give up beer for a while, as much as I love it. I have been on a low-carb, gluten-free diet since the day after Easter. I do not like low-carb beers, so that is not a good substitute for me, whether they are gluten-free or not.
The good news is that I have lost 15 pounds since then.

I consumed a number of cans of Bitter American at a party yesterday and I am none the worse for the wear today. Easily my favorite beer lately.
It's a great racing day on television with the Monaco GP, Indy 500 and the Coke 600 today. With the steamy temps outside, it's tempting to just chill inside.

too hot for anything but Leine's summer shandy. At least from the michigan gas station's selection.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Haven't had it in forever and I still like it. Just a solid brew all around.

"I distrust a man who says 'when.' He's got to be careful not to drink too much, because he's not to be trusted when he does." Sydney Greenstreet
All over the map this holiday weekend. Mexican beer (Bohemia, Tecate and Dos Equis), German beer (Franziskaner Hefeweizen, Aventinus and a pair of Austrian beers: Gosser and Trumer) and a slew of American micros (Magic Hat #9, Three Floyds Gumballhead, Bell's Oberon and Two-Hearted Ale, Goose Island Honkers Ale, etc.). We set heat records here in Chicago the last few days, so anything cold within arm's reach went down the hatch. That went for whiskey and tequila too!![]()
