I haven't had Beck's in years. When my brother and I were much younger, we'd get together for an evening of cards with the wives and enjoy Beck's Dark. I'm going to have to revisit Beck's for old time sake.![]()

Over 100 degrees and humid as hell here in Chicago so I'm going to go for the Mexican beer tonight and some tequila too. I've got a bottle of Bohemia left and a six pack of Modelo Especial which should do the trick. I hate to wish my summer away, given the length of our winters around here, but I'm looking forward to cool, crisp nights and the early autumnal days of late September. But then I've got a built-in Scottish body-thermostat, so anything over 80 is hot to me.

Damn, Mr Uncle, get a bag of ice, a case of Bud, and a baggie of ice.
You are welcome.

An extremely generous SBer dropped a few rarities on me over the weekend. I finally got to taste an Oskar Blues with Dale's Pale Ale, which was nice and refreshing. Zombie Dust is pretty much my favorite beer around these days, except it hasn't been around recently, as 3 Floyds is not making any at the moment while they work on their production line (not sure if they are making repairs or preparing for the rumored expansion). The two bottles proffered were much appreciated and enjoyed immensely over some BBQ ribs and brisket!
But the 'topper' of the bunch, if you will, was a can of Alchemist's Heady Topper. My oh my. As is recommended on the label, I drank straight from the pint-sized can, and it was the juiciest hoppy beer I've ever had. It's only available in a small circumference around the Vermont brewery, but it comes highly, highly recommended! Lots and lots of hops, but only just the right amount of bitterness, more body in the hop flavor than any other DIPA I've had, with citrus and fresh-cut pine. Resiny and sticky, but not syrupy, just perfectly integrated. Such a delectable treat!
