What bottle(s) do you find yourself reaching for?

I like to keep a lot of bottles open. Currently:

89 Bourbons
12 Ryes
2 Wheat Whiskies
5 Corns
and 13 others (Scotch, Canadian, Irish, etc.)

because I like to do a theme flight each night (sometimes blind set up by my wife...which is usually very humbling)

But.... after the flight I usually go to the three decanters I have on my barrel which contain:

OWA
FRYellow
and a rye (rotates between WT and Rit BIB)

If I open a bottle and don't really like it then it goes to my CrapBox which I use for infusions, cooking, or giving to my daughter's boyfriends.

1. Whiskey doesn't "age" in a bottle.

2. If properly sealed and cared for (kept away from direct sunlight), the amount lost to. The angels should be minimal.

3. Oxidation due to air exposure... Maybe a bit. This arfued and debated by people with more refined palates than mine, but I have a bottle of Chivas that has been with me for 16 years (obviously not one of my go to bottles), and it hasn't evaporated nor does it taste markedly different than it did in 1994 when I opened it.

Hasn't been a problem yet.

I have never experienced any tasting worse than when I opened them. I have several that I think taste better sometime later after opening them. None of them last over two years. I eventually get tired of looking at them and decide to finish them off (Just finished doing this with a newer WTKS.) or really like them and replace them.

I probably have about 20 open. MM, MM46, OGD 114, EC, EWSB tend to sit there. Pappy 23 and 20 wait for guests or special occasions. WTAS and WT Trad are hit more frequently for the high level stuff. The others go in spurts, but I very seldom am away from Blanton's or VOB for more than 2 weeks.

I am generally an "everyday pour" sort of drinker. I normally reach for either Wild Turkey 101 or Old Grand Dad 86.

Me too, but I opt for the OGD BiB. George Dickel 12 is always in the mix, as well.

I find myself reaching for the expensive bottles the most, unfortunately.

Lately, that's the a Willett 15 year, Abraham Bowman Bourbon (Barrel #1), and Rock Hill Farms.
