    Re: Tequila Forum

Just read through a fair amount of the thread. Thanks for the ideas folks! Headed down to Party Source in a few days. I'll be trying some rums and now some tequilas. I've had a few more tequilas and have started to come around to the spirit (after writing it off a few years ago). They're out of the Siete Leguas reposado, but may pick up the anejo. I want something with barrel character, but I'm willing to try the reposado (as Max recommends) in order to not overpower the agave flavor. I'll post here with results.

    Cheers,
    Roger

The 7L anejo has great balance too. You won't be disappointed with that either.

Trying some Muchote Reposado tonight. Haven't had much exposure to the world of tequila, but this is a good start. Excited to dig into the rest of my samples courtesy of a great SB'er!

I'm not sure that I could ever pick a favorite, but this one would be at the start of the short list.

Niceeeeeee. That is great stuff. What are your thoughts on it, Johnny?

Also, my bottle of Forteleza blanco is getting dangerously low.

Look for Lot 18. It's another good one.

Great - I know where quite a few 18s are lingering about. I heard 16 was also really good, but no mas around here.

Gearing up for Denton Fest II? I expect copious notes when you return.

I picked up a Siembra resposado and a Siete Leguas anejo last night. I also got to try the Party Source select Casa Noble extra anejo, which I thought was great but a bit too expensive at almost $100. Thanks for the recommendations!

I'm also barrel aging two bottles of El Jimador reposado in a 2L barrel with orange bitters and Angostura bitters for to make tequila old fashioneds. Pretty good neat after a week in the barrel, but may wait a few more days to mix up a cocktail and decide where to go. Anyone else on here barrel aging tequila cocktails?

I'm in NY right now actually and eager to return. DF2 should be a great event. Lot 16 was really good. Lot 18 isn't quite as good, but is as good as blanco gets for the price.
