I tried three new stores today, all on the same street, to see if I could find something good/new/different. The first one had the best selection, I ended up taking the JDSB for $48, which is not a bad price for around here. It was either that or the prichard's double barrel for at least $10 more, or the Jefferson's reserve for $50. I let price decide and went with the JD, but I may head back again for the Prichard's. The next store, about two blocks away had OF 86 for $19. I bought it just because I've never seen any OF other than the B-day bourbon and wanted to give it a try. The last store, which wasn't the last one on the street, just the last one I went to today had bulleit bourbon for $35, so I went with that. Of the three, the first store had the best selection.
In the weeks ahead I'm going to have to drive into brooklyn to find some high west and other rare finds.
I'm still not ready to buy whiskey on-line. I don't want to miss the delivery and have to go down to the fed-ex, or ups warehouse to pick it up.

Below is a list, and pictures of what I managed to acquire just before, during and after my vacation. I have to be honest and say that the only Jack Daniels that is for me is the Silver Select. The others are for a couple of my buddies that I used to bowl with. Also, one of the liters of HH has found a new home. I should be good for a while, but I've said that before.
Cheers! Joe
