Hey Guys!
My Babygirl just got back from Scotland.
Like a dutiful daughter, she brought ol' Mom a bottle of Scotch...

I have no clue what I have here. It's a 10 yr. old Highland single malt. Handcrafted by the sixteen men of Tain.

Part of me thinks I should save it, as a momento of her trip. The other part of me says:
Drink it Girl, Drink It!!

Anyone have anything to say about this Scotch?

They took the tour. There was a tasting after the tour. When the Tour Guide learned my daughter was from Kentucky, he sat down at their table and began to question her about the mash process, number of distillations, etc.
I would have loved to have been there.

Glenmorangie 10yo!? Oh you absolutely have to DRINK IT!!!

I've only tasted two of their 12-year-olds (the Madeira and Portwood finishes). Both are pleasant, but taste-wise I'm growing away from Macallan-type overly-sherried Scotches, so I don't revisit the bottles too often. The 10yo you have might be more to my liking, since it doesn't have a trademark "finish"-wood.

Brenda, it's a fine bottle, good for a wee dram on a Sunday afternoon. Keep it and share it with your daughter when she visits. It's a very approachable Scotch, nothing too harsh in any one direction. And please pronounce it the right way... Glen_MORANGE_ee (pronouce the morange like ORANGE). You're a lucky mom.

Brenda, I just finished a bottle of Glenmorangie 10 yr. last week. Excellent stuff.....I'll definitely get another bottle. Hope you enjoy yours.....

First off, I agree with all before me and say DRINK IT GIRL, DRINK IT! You have a very good scotch on hand, so definitely enjoy it!

On my LOOONG list of things to do is to visit Scotland, and Ireland, and visit a bunch of distilleries. So, I can understand your desire to have been there as well. Did your daughter get to any other distilleries?

She has chosen well. It's aged in Bourbon casks.

Glenmorangie 10 is a very likable single malt. Depending on whose
numbers you're using, it's often quoted to be the best-selling single
malt scotch in Scotland. (It's not the best-selling scotch... that's
undoubtedly one of the blends.)

No, they were visiting family and got sortof pulled around...
I'm with you, Scotland is one of the places I'd like to see.
They did manage a 3 hour train ride thru the countryside. From Edinbourough to Aberdeen (I have no clue if I spelled that right). What a beautiful place.

I knew I could count on you! You fellas just rock!
I had snarfled around on the net and read the hype. What I really wanted to know was, what kind of barrel it was aged in. I wasn't really interested in any Port, Madeira or Sherry wood finishes, and was tickled when OCO confirmed my theory.
And, I wanted to know how to say it...
