Re: What are you drinking, yet AGAIN!!!

    Hmmm...

I love to sit in a quiet room, reading a good book, sipping WT101 or Rare Breed.

I'm with you Tim, though I might make it a KS . Something about WT bourbon just tastes like a bourbon should to me.

Started out with a little Jefferson's and have sinced moved to the old standby: Weller 12yo. The more I drink Jefferson's, the more I kind a like it, but in a completely different way from my enjoyment of Weller. Still not a $30 IMHO

Of course, we all have slightly different tastes. Just think.... If WE all settled on just one or two top shelf or superpremium bourbons the industry would have an even bigger problem

I prefer Kentucky Spirit over the others from that family.

    Hey, it's all pretty good!

Well, we certainly don't stop with one sip

And with beer, I must say, sipping just will NOT do.

But with bourbon neat, I can sip... and sip.... and....

I agree. I am still on my hot summer / cold Bud kick. I usually take down a whole bottle or can in about three or four "swigs". It is so refreshing, that way.

Re: What are you drinking, yet AGAIN!!!

Yesterday I was given a "gift" of whiskey from a man who drinks only gin. Apparently he is not one to miss the price on something...it was a bottle of Kentucky Tavern. Hey, never look a gift horse in the mouth. I sincerely said thanks for thinking of me. Yet this evening as I sampled this libation, I kept looking at the label thinking it might be a blend. It says "straight bourbon whiskey" on the bottle so it can't be a blend but while I solved that mystery, I am still looking for the taste. You get a hint of nose then it leaves....you get a hint of taste and then...where did it go? I can see someone without discipline drinking this on ice or with water real fast. (Someone like me) ...so I switched to the last inch of Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star I had left to clear the shelf. (Please, please, please send some Buffalo Trace or at least AAA 10YEAR to Ohio soon!!!) Compared to the Ky Tavern, this 10 Star is the toast of the ball....I have always thought this a good "drinker" (see preferences from BT above) and am glad we at least have this...I have been to many states that don't. This evening the AAA10Star strikes me as the middle ground between two of its middle shelf mates...touches of the OF sweetness with a good dose of EW dryness.....

For the first time in many months, I have bought and am sipping Elijah Craig 12-yr old. It has a spicier bite than anything else I can think of, without exactly being harsh. Very nice aroma: caramel, maple, and corn.

I still like it. I think I need to hold it for cooler weather, though. (Its still in the 90's, here.)
