Tonight I had the last (rather hefty) shot of a bottle of Ezra B that I inherited somehow during last years festival. . . I was sorry to see it good. The good side it that I have friends coming form out of stste tomorrow, and they are bearing a brand new full bottle!

Last night I saw the "new label" OF 86 proof on the shelf a Liquor Barn. Maybe I'll pick up a bottle and try it again, as there's a better chance of getting a different batch.

Yeah, I finished up my bottle a few months back and getting another bottle while in KY this year is without a doubt on my list. Great bourbon and at a not so bad price, at least when I got it...

Doh! What an amazing price. I finfished up my first bottle of the 12 year a few weeks back and when I can find another for under $30 again it is a definate re-buy. Hell, all of Julian's whiskies seem to be!

No, not lately. I guess I need to go buy one. But, right now, I have too many bottles of mid-shelf whiskey, having stocked up at the OGD sale, last month.

BTW, I am really enjoying my OGD 86. But, night before last, I had a dram of the 114. There is no comparison. The 114 is sweeter and gives a mouth burst full of flavors. The 86 is relatively one dimensional (but, still great for the price I paid).

Last night, I went to The Coach House for dinner and it was WR as a cocktail and an after dinner drink. Perhaps it was the Bananas Foster lingering, but I distinctly pick up toasted coconut. BTW, if you ever get a chance to see The Bats, a Lexington group that does rock and country cover tunes, see them. They are very good and have some fun songs as well. Six 40-50ish women with male guitar player and drummer. Great Time!!

Nothing fancy tonight - Old Forester (86 proof). I really like this stuff and it's cheap. I believe I paid only $10.50 for the 750ml size bottle.

A coincidence! I was drinking some of my bottle of Ezra B. tonite that I picked up in Kentucky in June. Really great stuff...it's one of my favorites...very rich, and lingers long on the palate. Too bad I only picked up one bottle...I can't find this stuff out here in CA.
