Best Bourbon Bars in Charleston, SC?

Hey guys, we are heading to Charleston, SC on Thursday (12/20) and will be there for several days. Staying downtown at the French Quarter Inn (based on recommendations by friends--this will be our first trip to Charleston). Wondering if there are any spots recommended for bourbon enthusiasts to enjoy within the downtown historic area? Any suggestions will be appreciated, as well as thoughts and recommendations as to restaurants, things to do, etc.

I haven't been there personally, but I always hear good things about Husk. Go to Hominy Grill for breakfast. Pearlz is a pretty good seafood place. It's on Bay St. Please don't go to Hymans. It's a tourist trap. Don't go see the battery at night, unless you want to get mugged. Fort Sumter is an interesting visit and gets you a boat ride out into the channel. If you are renting a car you can drive out to Sullivans Island and Isle of Palms and check out some nice houses. Fort Moultire is also out that direction. There also is the firefly vodka distillery out on Wadmalaw Island. Wadmalaw is also home to the only tea plantation in the US. If you decide to go, make sure you eat and gas up before you get out there, because there isn't really many options.

There's a place in Charleston that sells the Van Winkle lineup at prices that make the old Ebay look like a Kmart blue light special if you have extra cash to throw around.

Husk gets its own barrels of PVW 20, I believe. I'm guessing this is the expensive place Bradley is referring to. Supposed to be one of the great restaurants in the South, too. It has been on my list for a while.

I think they got 1 barrel of 15 year at the end of the SW era. At $50/glass I'll pass. At $130/glass for the 23 I'll pass on the whole restaurant.

The food at Husk is wonderful, but the bourbon is cheaper at the Gin Joint.

Husk bar and restaurant are two separate buildings. The bar is a really cool place and has great cocktails and a pretty good menu. I have not been in the restaurant, but next door is 82 Queen and it has great food. Out towards Kiawah is the Fat Hen and it has a great brunch and pretty good food at night. I have heard good things about the Gin Joint.
