private bottling OWA to cap the evening. headed to San Diego, aka - beer country, for a few days leaving the bourbon behind.

Last pour of a Ritt BIB; multiple pours of a private barrel BT, 8.5yo, that just keeps getting better as time drifts by...the nose carries a faint memory of a long gone Stagg of the past.
Roll Tide Roll!!!
Had my first pour of Larceny from a freshly opened bottle, followed up by a pour of SB blend that's been blended for a few weeks. Gut reaction is that the Larceny was less flavorful and a bit harsher going down, but had a nice caramely finish. The SB blend was more flavorful all the way through and delicious, but had less of that caramely finish. Both nice options, but I'll see how the Larceny opens up with airtime.
I had the same reaction for the Larceny. It may not make much difference, but, I decided to put it in the back of the stash cabinet for a few months and see what happens. Quite often, that opens up a wheater a bit and tones down the lesser qualities...especially of lesser quality wheaters...all IMHO of course.

giving my brand new bottle of jeffersons 18 a try. very good, but not worth the price imo.
Doing some dive bar hopping. Started with WT 101 at the 1st bar, then an Angel's Envy at the 2nd. Next bar ordered a Maker's 46, got a MM. No surprise. When I asked what kind of bourbon they had, she said "Gentleman Jack, Jameson, Tullamore, Dewar's .....,"
Cool bar other than that.
