What Bourbon Did You Purchase Today? - Fall 2012

Hey guys --- Quick question that doesn't really need it's own thread:

My local Total Wine had a good amount of ORVW 10/107 bottles last year for about $39.99 and a few Lot B's for (I believe) $49.99.

Last year I picked up a Lot B for $49.99 and a VWFRR for $59.99. NJ is a bit unique as I believe our allocation this year was delayed due to the Hurricane, so I haven't seen any here this year at all. But from what I've read from here and Facebook, this year the PVW products seem to be more scarce, there's more demand, and the prices are higher (often much higher) at retail. So I wouldn't expect that you'd find the same prices this year as you found last year, even assuming you can find these. If you do, snap them up.

The Lot B is debatable about whether it is worth more than $50 compared to say a Weller 12 at $20, but I've enjoyed mine and would probably buy it again if I saw it at $50. At $60 or higher, probably not. I prefer the Vintage 17 wheater a good bit over the Lot B, and it was $65, so that is a relevant price comparison for me.

Around here Lot "B" was going for $59, and the ORVW $45. I would gladly pay $59 for the Lot "B", I love it.

This morning my wife left from Detroit headed to Valparaiso(sp?) IN, to visit family for the weekend, unfortunately I could not go. About 4 hours later I got a txt from her asking "which Weller did you say wanted really badly?" I said "the 12 year old" (as they don't sell it in MI and I have never had it) she said "is this the one?" and txted me a picture of the 12yo, I said "HELL YES! Where did you find that and please buy me one?!?!" she said "whew I bought 2, see you Sunday" now I really can't wait for her to come home!!
