What Bourbon Did You Purchase Today? - Fall 2012

Whats a reasonable price for the WTAS? I found a guy with a stash of 6 or so for $80 each. From what I've read here its a pretty good pour.

Went out dusty hunting (unsuccessfully), but picked up one of these in a nicer store as a consolation. $75, I thought the price was ok. Will be my first high-end Wild Turkey, but I've read good things on this forum.

Picked up my first (and likely only) EC18. This one was barreled 4/91.

Sure. I haven't opened it yet, but I will remedy that this week. My recollection is that it is very classic Wild Turkey . . . lots of vanilla and cinammon with some oak and leather from the extra age. I remember not liking it quite as much as the old 12 year split label I've had, but very few whiskeys can compete with that stuff.

W12 for $35??? I bought some last week for $23. I like it quite a bit but mostly because I find it in the twenties. It is a bit thin and low proof for $35.

It's pretty much mid $30's in this state, and that is if you can find it. I have to drive about 45 minutes for the closest store that carries it. I found it for right at $30, and was absolutely shocked. When I travel it's pretty much much low 20's everywhere that carries it. It's damn silly.

That's a bummer... weird how price can fluctuate so much from state to state. It's $19.99 here, but the stores do not stock it very well at all, goes almost as quickly as the Rip Van Winkle line.

I'm done for the year unless I get a call from one of the several VA ABC stores I put in special orders at...and let's just say my phone has not been ringing off the hook. I did get a call from the one store that has gotten me stuff before though, and they had a couple of VWSR Lot Bs, so I figured I snag those. Can't believe they raised the price again to $54.90...I think that's the last bottles I'll be getting of that for a while. Seeing as I was there I grabbed a FC cause it was on sale and I'm about out, and a mini bottle of barrel proof WTRB somehow "fell" in my cart too.
