    Hello from LCBO land

Hi all, signed up two days ago just received confirmation that I can post.

I live in Markham, Ont (a suburb of Toronto) and I've been drinking whisky for about two years. My "collection" consists mainly of stuff from the other side of the pond, Canadian (Forty Creek, Wiser's, Alberta Premium), and some Bourbon/Rye (MM46, baby Saz, BT, WLW12, FR, EC12, Rittenhouse bib, Bookers).

Hi, to the familiar Canuck names from the www forum (smithford, dbk, frodo).

Welcome to the boards. I do enjoy a few canadians, especially some Wisers 18.

    Thanks for the welcome.

The Wiser's 18 is good but a bit thin. The Legacy at 45% is better.

    Howdy and welcome!

The next Canadian whisky I buy will be my first, but I have heard some mighty good things about Forty Creek and Wiser's. As soon as collectible season simmers down I may look into grabbing one or the other.

Welcome Portwood. It's always nice to see familiar faces (well, usernames anyway).

Until now, I had cornered the market for complaining about the price and selection at the LCBO on SB. But it looks like I've got some competition now.

The rules are much tighter over here, I'll have to be on my best behaviour.

To their credit, the selection of bourbon/rye has been increasing over the last year and pricing has generally been more reasonable compared to Scotch - that's one of the reasons I'm here. Could have picked up a GTS and/or ER17 for 100 bucks if I had been willing to pay for a ticket to the dinner/tasting a couple of months back. If you don't include the price of admission, that's only a 25-30% markup to the US retail price.
