Interesting WSJ interview with the CEO of Beam, discussing the intention to remain a standalone NYSE company, emerging international markets, and its brand and product diversification. The company has added several spirit brands to its portfolio. It's interesting, though, that he mentions China and Brazil as being Scotch markets, yet Beam's sole product in that segment is Teacher's Blended Scotch. It will be interesting if they'll be able to expand Teacher's global reach, acquire a single-malt scotch, or will just focus on the growth of their existing brand portfolio.
