What bourbon are you drinking in Australia? - Summer 2011

I'll kick it off with a bottle that can be found in most good liquor outlets around Oz; Wild Turkey Rare Breed - from my knowledge i think this is a blend of a few different years - 6, 8 and 12-year-old stock at 108 barrel proof.

First few pours out of this wonderful bottle has already gone from this Xmas gift Here's to the memories of Jimmy and Eddie Russell when they visited here late last year. Thanks for sharing America! Cheers!

Started last night with a small pour of Buffalo Trace before dinner, had a couple of Jim Beam and Cokes with our meal (pork spare ribs in honey mustard sauce and salad) then finished off with a generous pour of Evan Williams Honey Reserve. I'd have put the Evan Williams over ice cream, but our daughter finished the tub for her dinner

Yesterday I caught up with family at a pub between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I hadn't planned on having a drink........ until the $29 lunchtime rump steak special I ordered came out....... 1.1kg (39 ounce) of prime black angus rump with 0.5kg of thick fries on the side . I had to order my first Jim Beam and Coke premix of the year to try and wash the thing down. The drink tasted great, but sadly the steak got the better of me as I only made it 2/3 of the way through

Working my way through a bottle of Booker's, nice stuff but I think I preferred the Elijah Craig 12.

In quiet little Perth I've been drinking alot of Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond and Buffalo Trace. However on the weekends its George T Stagg.

Cam I got the OGBBIB online at Nicks. I must say I am very addicted to it.

Stones, the weekends are the only days I can devote the required time that Stagg demands.
