Call the owner and see if this is an actual policy. If it is, online reviews should reflect your feelings. If not, you made the owner aware of a sketchy employee.

Why are the authorities requiring this owner to treat three bottles as a multi bottle purchase? One has to wonder what he's been up to in the past.
I just called police dispatch and reported the store taking down my information. I have had my credit card number stolen several times over the past couple years and don't want to take the chance this guy is doing something inappropriate with my info. I am suppose to get a call from an officer to discuss.

I don't think there is any law in that area that requires it. I think this is something the store owner is doing on his own.
If the guy wanted to he could just limit the purchase quantity to one per customer. He had no objections to taking my money and letting me buy 3 bottles. It is way too fishy.

Tony,
Was this in MI?
I've purchased 3 or more bottles of the same item several times in MI including just recently. I've never had that experience.

Will,
Yeah this was in Michigan. I have only shopped at the store twice. The first time I bought one bottle, a month or two ago. The store has some older stuff on the shelves, but I won't be shopping there again.
If they have some good stuff, pay cash.
