Well the guy is a jackass. I usually don't like doing business with jackasses but I won't hurt myself to avoid doing business with a jackass.

If you get there often just buy two of each from him until you got what you want.

There is a store on Middlebelt by Pontiac Trail that had some PVW a year ago but would sell to me as I wasn't one of his wine customers. He complained about people flipping on eBay so he only sold to those he knew.

What he didn't know was that I took 6 or 7 bottles of OCPR SS out of his store a few years back when the moved a couple of doors down the street. The kid behind the counter didn't know the price and it wasn't in the book so he charged me the price for the basic Old Charter.

He was happy to make the sale and so was I.

I agree with your assessment of this guy. I am not the only one on this board that has had a run in with him, but others had issues such as pricing and mismarking.

Personally, I don't want to give him another dime. I can do without his booze. Nothing that I can't live without.

I know the store you speak of on the OCPR. He won't sell any PVW to anyone that I know either.

You should also contact the Liquor Control Commission, if he hears from them then he'll get a good scare.

For whatever it's worth, I do know a few of the Binny's in the area will require a name from a driver's license for certain allotted purchases. They only did that to make sure people weren't coming back in two or three hours later to buy something when a new shift of employees took over. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you're dealing with that situation here...

A while ago, my dad picked a Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection seasoned oak off of the shelf from that store. When he brought it to the register the guy at the counter saw it and said that it should not have been on the floor. He put it behind the counter and brought out a maple finish.

Recently, I stopped by there. Seeing the older bottles (and the associated pricing), I wondered what else they had in the back. Giving them some grief, I asked if they were trying to run a museum or a museum gift shop. He justified the pricing by pointing to eBay.

He then went on to describe the major issues with bottle flipping and told me he had been instructed by the distributor to track all customers who had purchased allocated inventory. I found that odd. I've never met a distributor that cared.

How long before Binny's & other large retailers issue a card like Kroger so we can take advantage of all the 'specials'? In turn, all the while tracking & recording our purchases & purchasing habits. So, recording DLs or other forms ID doesn't shock me in the least here
