Store writing down Driver's License Info

How long before Binny's & other large retailers issue a card like Kroger so we can take advantage of all the 'specials'? In turn, all the while tracking & recording our purchases & purchasing habits. So, recording DLs or other forms ID doesn't shock me in the least here

Binny's has a card already -- I don't buy a ton there so I don't know how useful it is for whiskey, as it sounds more focused on rewarding wine customers.

He then went on to describe the major issues with bottle flipping and told me he had been instructed by the distributor to track all customers who had purchased allocated inventory. I found that odd. I've never met a distributor that cared.

Agreed. That's almost certainly a lie. Distributors don't care. It just sounds like somebody you shouldn't be doing business with. Bad store owner, bad.

Sounds like sour grapes......and what the owner thinks might be a way to frighten his costumers into not flipping a bottle.

Sort of like some jackwagon who won't sell you a steak if you're gonna feed it to your dog.
