The best bottle of wheated bourbon you've ever had??

For me it has to be the 2010 PHC 4th edition wheated mashbill 124.2. No ice needed, incredible stuff served neat. The 127.8 is incredible stuff too but the second dump is a touch better.

I've had a few dusty wheaters, but nothing as exquisite as T Comp (anyone wanna share some ORVW 15???). The best wheater I've had is an older (17, 18 year old?) Willett. Amazing stuff. Second on my list is the PHC wheated...in a semi-blind tasting I preferred the 127.8 to the 124.2.

Old Weller 107, bottled in '71. Simply incredible bourbon. The only other one in the ballpark is my TPS Willett #14A, best newer whiskey I've had.

The 2010 PHC didn't really speak to me. I used to really enjoy Weller 12, and would have put it at the top of my list of standard bottlings, but recent purchases have been very dry and woody. Still, it tastes great when blended with Antique, and the nose is terrific.

I have no idea, other to say that if 2011 is better than the 2012, it would have to have been one of the best whiskeys of all time. The 2012 WLW is fantastic, and I'd rate it as one of the best wheaters I've ever had. Along with this year's Pappy 15, and JPS 18.

Shout out to Andrew at Liberty Bar in Seattle, I was a regular there when I lived in Seattle....and one day, Andrew was out of town, but had one of his employees bring me a full 2oz pour of Old Fitzgerald, SW juice, from '65 or so, came in the Venice glass bottle. I sat in my chair and just marvelled at how incredible that whiskey was. I went Billy Joel style and made love to that glass of bourbon. Nothing I've ever had has even come close to being as good as that was.

For current, I gotta go with the PHC '12 or the bottle of PVW 23 I had for my bachelor party in Vegas this year!

Without a doubt the best and most memorable wheater I've had was a private barrel Willett 17yo followed by another PB Willett 18yo and tagging along for a close third is PHC 4th batch #2.

My favorite was a sample of Van Winkle 23 at barrel proof that Stoopsie let me drink all of one time. I thank you Mr. Stoops!

The Willett 17/18s that have gone around are also tough to beat.

I had a drink or two out of a bottle of Old Rip 15 y/o at TomH's place that was fan frickin' tastic. And I'm not much of a wheater guy.
