Most people speak pretty highly of the dimpled OF compared to the current release... buy one, drink some, if you like it buy the other. Unless the price is ridiculous, of course.

Not sure it was indeed dimpled, just know it had a similar white label. $19.99 for a 1L seems worth a shot.

I wouldn't say there's been any real change in Forester, per se, over the 40 or so years I've been drinking it, but if there's a choice I will always pick an older bottling (80s) because back then all the whisky went into the brand as opposed to now when the cream is being skimmed to create Woodford and Birthday.

When did the white label completely disappear?

Well it went from paper to plastic, hmm, six years or so back, but the current look is rather recent.

The OF of the 80s is much better than the current release. It's one of my favorite bourbons. The OFBB 2005 has a very similar profile to the 80s OF and is a personal favorite.

Got to agree jf, I will reach over more than a few to get to the Birthday.

Isn't Woodford now made in a different distillery from OF and OFBB?
That yella whiskey runnin' down my throat like honey dew vine water and I took another slash…

The pot still component of Woodford is. The majority of what goes into standard Woodford is column stilled bourbon. Some of the limited releases have been entirely from the Woodford distillery.

Unless I'm wrong and they have a column still in Versailles now but I haven't found anything that says otherwise.
