Larceny, KC and poker with some friends last night.
A little OWA NAS this morning. Say what you will about the NAS, this is good bourbon.
A heathy pour from a 2001 pewter top WTKS followed by some 2008 Binny's ETL that I forgot was open.
It's amazing what you find in the back of the cabinet when you move a few things around.
My name is Joel Goodson. I deal in human fulfillment.
I grossed over eight thousand dollars in one night. Time of your life, huh kid?
Bourbon based cocktail with lunch using Barton, Ameretto, orange juice and grenadine.
Having my first pour of AH Hirsch 16 year tonight.
Easing into the evening with some Old Grand Dad in the glass.
Sipping on a Private Selection Four Roses Single barrel OESO recipe, it is a darn fine pour and I will be going back soon to pick up another bottle
It's very good, extremely smooth. Very soft on the front with some burn at the end. There has been so much hype about this bourbon that you expect this big wow factor that I did not get. It is one of the best that I've ever had, but for me I have had better. It could be that I like barrel prof bourbons, I like the strong stuff!!!!
Woody I got a few bottles of the Hirsch 16 way back when and for some reason didn't get around to opening them for quite awhile. When the hype got going a friend and I opened one and my first thought was, well . . .that's nice . . . but it didn't make me do handsprings or anything. By the second glass I decided it was a good whisky but overpriced by at least a factor of three.
Scarcity and name recognition are what drive these prices up.
