I have 3 bottles of Hirsch 16 I bought about 4 years ago for $69.95 at a local store. I don't know why I never opened them. I'm glad I didn't pay any more for them.

It's been a Maker's Mark and Larceny night for me. Having them side by side the Larceny is the winner with it being more viscous and flavorful.
I enjoy both pours Joe, and go back and forth as to a favorite on any given night. The interesting thing to me, is that they are more similar in style, than say, as each would be compared to OWA. The OWA is a much more oilier, bolder, and viscous than the others, where MM and Larceny are softer and drier. Have you compared them yet to OWA?

Absolutely, they are very similar and the difference in viscosity is slight (if not in my head.) Last night Larceny was just hitting "the spot" better. As compared to OWA, I would again have to agree. MM and Larceny are more similar to each other than they are to OWA. I certainly would not discount any of them as they are good pours at good prices. Larceny goes for $20.99 around here.
Last night was a giant batch of Manhattan's made with Rittenhouse BiB. Toomuch going on to try and enjoy anything other than a cocktail of some kind.
I don't know if it is me, or what, but every now and then when I'm drinking this Rittenhouse, i catch a whiff of musty/moldy basement. It's a real turn off, and it happened again last night.

Grrrr.... Larceny is another value-priced bourbon I can't find around here in AZ. I'll have to add it to my order when I talk to my local Total Wine manager about getting some Elmer T Lee.
Poured some Taylor Tornado into a brandy snifter, with an ice water back. An excellent way to close out a nice grilled Rib Eye dinner.
A little OGD BiB, which kills a 200 mL bottle. Might move on to the '08 OFBB, since I had the '05 last night. See what changes have occurred in the month or so that one has been open.
