What bourbon are you drinking? Winter 12/13

Not much snow yet, but it's definitely a night for premium spirits. Governor closed the roads in MA at 4:00pm, so no reason to go anywhere and nothing open to go to.

Started off before dinner with a lovely martini made with Greylock gin, 3:1 with Dolin dry vermouth.

Now it's after dinner, and lots of little pours are planned with some fruit and sorbet for dessert while listening to the snowplows go by:

Hehe... I've been listening to the updates via 98.5 (sports talk) on my cell. That's one thing about NE that I certainly don't miss.

.... well, I would like one or two snow storms per winter, but the whole 9 months of cold is a real downer.

A nice bold pour of V17 to ease my shame after having my ass handed to me by my six year old son while playing Brunswick Bowling on the PS3 tonight.

Started out with a healthy glob of 4R Yellow Label, but it just wasn't doing it for me. So, decided to pump-up-the-volume with a dollop of '04 Stagg. Went back and re-touched with a smidge more of the 4RYL.
One fine Gillmanization, if I do say so meself.


Side note to self: Save the Yellow Label for Summertime. Shines best in warmer temps.

For the last several years I've hosted a whiskey tasting for my birthday. My friends each bring a bottle of bourbon or rye and I share a few of my favorite bottles. It's always a fun night and a great way to celebrate your birthday. The next morning always includes a fun hungover conversation with my wife about where we are going to put the new bottles.
