Yes, three of the more common 'dusty' brands still found today are Old Taylor, Old Crow and Old Grand Dad, all of which were owned and produced by the old National Distillers Co. until the sale of the brands to Beam in 1987. Under ND the brands had separate identities, mashbill, yeast, production and aging differences and each was blended to match a specific brand profile. After the sale to Beam only Grand Dad was produced with it's identity intact while the other two were diminished into entry level value brands filled with standard Beam recipe whisky.
ND had other brands of course, some whose brand names go back to the 1880s, I'm just mentioning the three most commonly available as a dusty ND product. So if you come across a bottle of Taylor or Crow bottled prior to 1987 you've found a dusty that still has the flavor profile that made those brands World famous.

Irrelevant, Oscar, or just inappropriately titled?
What was once Winter will become dust and ashes after the warm dawn of Spring that is but days away and all the dark dreary tales of bourbon drinking in the Winter at least seem irrelevant,...until we get that annual nor'easter with a massive snow dump in April.

To paraphrase Tina Turner, "What's winter got to do with it?" Bourbon year 'round!
Don't bring up Tina cuz then all I can think about is legs legs legs.

Well Oscar I believe I should toast the coming Spring, lets see, what would be appropriate, ahh, got it, Old Grand Dad.
Stopped by my buddy's liquor store today and he poured me a dram of OFBB for the first time. I like the squat bottle. It reminded me of EHTsmB, tasty but unremarkable, with a nose of maple cotton candy. Plus it's in a tough price range for me, along with Noah's Mill and RHF, both of which I find far superior. Glad to have finally tried it, though.
Yeah . . . Tina got it goin' on!
