Had a 6-year-old BIB face-off last night. Heaven Hill won by a nose over Barton, but there are no losers in that competition.

1yo cask sample from Las Vegas Distillery around 62.5% which was the filling strength. Doesnt remind me at all of other young whiskies I have tried, but much more like a real straight bourbon. Looking forward to taste the cask again at 2yo

Went to KY last week and have been doing the same all week. Its close for me too close to call. And you're right...no losers in that competition for sure.

A sample of a vatting of two different A. Bowman Virginia Whiskeys. Specifics were undocumented at the time of the (somewhat inadvertent?) mixing. Mighty tasty though, and fairly high proof. Added half an ice cube, and am now getting some butterscotch candy, small amounts of baking spices, and a very long finish.
