Thx Joe! The thought of being able to taste history in a bottle is a heady privilege. Honestly I never thought I'd score a dusty much less one like this bottle.
Raised number on the bottom of the bottle says 94.

I assumed he had 2 750ml bottles but I'd be interested to see the large bottle too :-)

Stopped by the local for something interesting. Came up a little short on that, few things looked good, but nothing enough to pull me towards the high end stuff. Noticed Weller Special Reserve was $9, so figured why not. Actually the first time I've had it, started with the Weller 12 and didn't drop down, but enjoying a glass now and its mighty fine for the price.
$9?! That's a steal for the WSR. Ironically, WSR is sort of looked down upon a bit compared to its higher proof (OWA 107) and greater aged (Weller 12) brothers, but it's a 90 proof wheater, several years old--kind of like that other wheated bourbon with initials MM, just better (and cheaper)...
Yeah, so far I'm a fan. Its been on sales lots of places here in Georgia lately. Maybe 6 months or more, I didn't really pay attention until the last 2. I guess either BT or their GA distributors are trying to build up the Weller brand here. It would certainly be a great gateway to wheaters, $10 and change after tax for 750ml/90 proof is in the impulse buy category for most anyone.
We'll see after more tastes over the next days and weeks tastings but I really like the apple character and the muddled, slightly harsher edges of this younger juice. I think I might pick up an Antique bottle tomorrow just so I have all three of the easily available (and hope to someday find a Larue) on hand opened within a week or two of each other and see how they change over time.
Picked up some Michters S B 10 y/o bourbon. They had a bottle of Michters 20 y/o uncut, unfiltered, but to much money for that bottle. Although I bet it's very good bourbon!!!
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit for $35.00.
