In the 'burbs, Binny's is your best bet for Pipeworks. DG, Willowbrook and Bolingbrook all stock them. No guarantee that any Galaxy Unicorn is still out there, but a fresh batch did just release a week or two ago.

I used to go into the city to get it -- Archer Liquors and West Lakeview Liquors both have carried them for a long while. They're not as widely distributed as Revolution, which I regularly see at independent stores; Pipeworks still relies upon a pair of guys in vans making deliveries to stores.

Very good stuff. It's a great "session" IPA.

Having my Goose Island now. Beyond delicious. Never had the coffee stout before, but thinking I like it quite a bit better than the standard Bourbon County. The coffee adds great depth to a beer already lloaded with flavor.

Broke away from my run on stouts lately and poured me up some Hopslam!

That's about where I am these days. I've had stouts, porters and Scotch ales out the wazoo for a couple of months now and, like a groundhog, feel the need to come out of my cave for a little look-around as spring approaches. Pale ales, IPA's and even lighter Mexican beers are returning to the repertoire and I look forward to the bocks and maibocks in another month or so. (Anchor makes a nice bock if you want a domestic one.)

Last night I downed a few bottles of O'so Hopdinger (40+ IBU's) and O'so Hop Whoopin' (90+ IBU's). Both are excellent, with the former being a cloudy, highly aromatic ale with just enough bite to satisfy. The HW dials things up a few notches and is copper clear with a nice balance of dryness and piney/citrusy flavors and aromas but not in a cloying way, as some double IPA's often are. If you can find 'em, give 'em a whirl. Perhaps not to everyone's tastes but I thoroughly enjoyed them.
